after numerous nights of hard work of understanding the Koken CMS, adapting the backend and photo preparation and postproduction, I finally reboot my website. From now on it is available under the domain www.nkphotoart.com. Again, thank you Lars for your support with the work on the backend and the work on the infrastructure. You saved me many hours of work and possibly a lot of frustration. I also like to thank you for raising my awareness to the brilliant CMS Koken.
A short history of my website: I launched my first website on the 6th of May 2013. This website was designed statically with iWeb and served more the purpose of a digital visiting card than enabling a nice stroll through my portfolio. Since I wanted to be more interactive I transitioned the website to the CMS WordPress. This happened on the 25th of April 2014, almost after a year of utilizing the static site.
With that transition, I hoped to ease the maintenance of the website and reduce the effort to publish new content. In addition I expected to present my portfolio in a more appealing way. Unfortunately it did not work out for me like that, ass WordPress and I never really warmed up with each other. Though the website stayed long in a ready, yet immature state, with respect to my expectations.
Then, I became father twice and my thesis... well it is almost a third child with respect to time consumption. Though it took a little while until I scanned for a new CMS, namely until a few weeks ago. Now, utilizing Koken I am really satisfied. I will extensively discuss the reasons, why I switched from WordPress to Koken and where I personally see advantages and disadvantages of either CMS in a future post.
The old domain (www.nkphotoart.de), which I neglected to promote and rarely utilized is redirected to the new website from now on.
Long story short; in the future you will find all relevant and hopefully interesting information about my recent projects, like successful contest participations or exhibitions here. In addition, I am planning to blog on a regular basis. I will not announce further activities for now, although I have some more ideas and plans.
To maximize the number of possible readers, I will try to write every post, and any other content at least in English and German. Maybe some pages will additionally be available in Swedish and French. The only exceptions with regard to that are the website menus, the photo captions and the album captions, which exclusively will be available in English.
Before concluding this post, I would like to give a huge thank you to all my models and all supporters of my photographic projects. You are all the best and without you my work would not be possible.

es ist so weit, nach zahlreichen Nächten mühevoller Arbeit in denen ich mich in das CMS Koken eingearbeitet, das Backend angepasst und die Photos fertig bearbeitet habe erfolgt ein Reboot meiner Website. Diese ist ab sofort unter der Domain www.nkphotoart.com zu erreichen. Ein besonderer Dank geht an dieser Stelle noch einmal Lars für die Unterstützung bei den Arbeiten im Backend und an der Infrastruktur. Er hat mir viele Stunden Arbeit und sicher auch einigen Frust erspart :-). Außerdem hat er mich auf dieses tolle CMS aufmerksam gemacht.
Kurz zur Geschichte meiner Website: Am 6.5.2013 habe ich meine erste Website online gestellt, die ich damals noch mit iWeb designed habe. Die Seite war statisch aufgebaut und war mehr so etwas wie eine digitale Visitenkarte als ein schöner Spaziergang durch meine Photos. Ich wollte aber etwas interaktiver sein und aktuelle Inhalte leicht präsentieren können. Deswegen bin ich nach einem guten Jahr am 25.05.2014 auf das CMS Wordpress umgestiegen.
Beim Umstieg habe ich gehofft, das es für mich leichter wird die Seite zu warten und mit neuen Inhalten zu füttern. Außerdem hatte ich gehofft das ich die Bilder dort schöner präsentieren kann. Das hat für mich leider nicht funktioniert, da Wordpress und ich nie richtig mit einander warm geworden sind. Die Seite war lange in einem zwar fertigen aber im Bezug auf die von mir erhofften Inhalte doch rudimentären Stadium geblieben.
Dann bin ich zwei mal Vater geworden und die Doktorarbeit, … tja was soll ich sagen, die ist vom Zeitaufwand fast wie ein drittes Kind. Somit hat es etwas länger gedauert bis ich mich nach einem neuen CMS umgesehen habe, nämlich bis vor ein paar Wochen. Mit Koken bin ich jetzt sehr zufrieden. Was mich genau bewogen hat zu Koken zu wechseln und worin ich die Vor- und Nachteile gegenüber Wordpress sehe werde ich in einem separaten zukünftigen Post noch einmal erläutern.
Die alte Domain (www.nkphotoart.de), welche ich kaum promoted und genutzt habe wird ab jetzt auf die neue Seite umgeleitet.
Lange Rede kurzer Sinn; in Zukunft werde ihr hier alle, hoffentlich interessanten Informationen und Neuigkeiten zu meinen aktuellen Projekte wie bspw. erfolgreiche Teilnahmen an Wettbewerben oder Ausstellungen finden. Außerdem plane ich einen Regelmäßigen Photoblog zu führen. Mit weiteren Dingen will ich mich erst einmal nicht aus dem Fenster lehnen.
Damit möglichst viele Leute meinen Blog lesen können werde ich versuchen jeden Post und jeden anderen präsentierte Inhalt zumindest in deutsch und englisch zu schreiben. Vielleicht kommt bei einigen Seiten auch schwedisch und französisch hinzu. Die einzige Ausnahme hier bilden die Menüpunkte, Bildunterschriften und die Beschriftung der Photoalben. Diese werden alle nur in englisch verfügbar sein.
Bevor ich diesen Blog-Eintrag beende möchte ich noch einmal ein großes Dankeschön an alle meine Modelle und alle Leute die mich bei meinen Photoprojekten unterstützen loswerden. Ihr seid einfach alle die Besten und ohne euch gäbe es meine Arbeiten nicht.
